Garrett McCaffrey is in his 5th year with Phoenix Swim Club. For the 2nd year in a row he’s been named to USA Swimming’s National Team Coaching Staff. With vast experience before in swimming as journalist he’s now putting his knowledge into use on the deck everyday in Arizona. He talks about how he uses USRPT training and the continued evolution of it as a training method.

  1. Where did he learn this? When you fail to recognize the people before you that did the grinding work. You get shut off. This is NOT his original thoughts!

    Who was Herbie coached by?

    He has no clue what the progression is within the Parametric System. The Russian developed the system in the late 60s and late 70s.

    1. Charlie, I apologize if I didn’t make clear that we use some of the sets that you’ve been using for years in this podcast. In the coach’s log series, I definitely credit you for the sets that we do that Herbie did with you.
