Garrett McCaffrey has been with the Phoenix Swim Club since 2011. He’s been named to USA Swimming’s National Team Coaching Staff two times. As the producer of FloSwimming.com from 2007-2009 and SwimmingWorld.TV from 2009-2011, Garrett gained unprecedented access to many of the best swimmers and coaches in the world. He covered meets, including the 2008 Olympics in Beijing and the 2009 World Championships in Rome. He is owner and co-founder of SwimSwam.com, the most popular swimming news site in the world. McCaffrey talks about how he uses USRPT training and the continued evolution of it as a training method.

  1. Where did he learn this? When you fail to recognize the people before you that did the grinding work. You get shut off. This is NOT his original thoughts!

    Who was Herbie coached by?

    He has no clue what the progression is within the Parametric System. The Russian developed the system in the late 60s and late 70s.

    1. Charlie, I apologize if I didn’t make clear that we use some of the sets that you’ve been using for years in this podcast. In the coach’s log series, I definitely credit you for the sets that we do that Herbie did with you.
